Our tattoo studio is situated on High Street in the heart of Chelmsford, Essex.
We are the purveyors of the finest custom tattoos in the land. When you visit us, you’ll find no loud music, no flash images on the wall - just a full, friendly parlour that’s geared up to cater for all of your ink needs and is situated in a gorgeous Grade 2 listed building right in the middle of the city’s High Street.
WHO IS HARRY FLASHMAN?
If you turn up at the parlour asking for Harry, you won’t have much luck. He isn’t our founder, nor our lead artist. In fact, he’s a character developed by George Macdonald Fraser for his novels and short stories The Flashman Papers. He’s a semi-aristocrat soldier who twists and turns his way through various works of historical fiction, and it’s his funny, slightly off-beat escapades that have inspired our unique brand.
Each of our industry-leading artists comes from a design or Fine Art background, so whatever style of tattoo you’re looking for, we’ll have it covered.
Our artists’ talents extend far beyond ink. They are always keen to get creative through whatever means possible, from painting, graffiti, music, film, sport, and even art collecting. We find that their passion for all kinds of artistic expression really shines through at the design stage of creating your one-off tattoo. After all, it’s our aim to develop something that’s a piece of art in itself.
Listed below are just some of our specialist tattoo styles. However, if you’re not sure what you want and would like to discuss your ideas with a member of the team, please book in for a free 1-2-1 consultation.
Black & Grey
Bare black tattoos, interspersed with some subtle shades of grey for variation, really push the talents of any artist to the limit.
If you love all things dotty, try these Pointillism-inspired tattoos. Whether positioned close together or further apart, dot marks make for a softer but no-less-striking design.
They are one of the hardest tattoos to create. Accurate likenesses are difficult to achieve. But luckily, Flashmans has some of the best portrait specialists in the business.
Using crisp bold line-work and just a handful of colours, our artists will create a timeless tattoo that will never go out of style.
A unique blend of bright, vibrant colours achieve an eye-catching look. It’s not unusual for our artists to use up to 16 colours per tattoo.
Using ink like a painter’s palette, only the skilled can imitate the soft watercolour-like blends of this popular style.
Inspired by this spiritual and ritual symbol that permeates Hinduism and Buddhism, these tattoos use geometric shapes to reflect the structure of the universe.
Tattoos that reflect Oriental culture bring striking colours, bold lines and fascinating heritage to the fore. This style has certainly come a long way from the single needle pushed into the skin.
1. Keep the tattoo covered for AT LEAST 1 to 2 hours.
2. Gently cleanse the area, stay out of the sun, and stay away from heat
3. Use only oil or oil-based ointment for the first 3 days. We use Hustle Butter Deluxe Organic Aftercare.
4. Avoid plasma crusting on your tattoo. If it does appear, gently wash the area with warm water.
5. After the first 3 days, keep your skin moisturised with all natural lotion. Or, better still, keep using the Hustle Butter Deluxe Organic twice a day. A little goes a long way, so don’t overdo it!
